Christmas Eve Dinner Table Setting
We had a Christmas dinner party with some friends over the weekend and it got me thinking about Christmas table decor as I was figuring out how to decorate the tables. I just kept thinking about fresh garland that I love so much with lots of whites and a few accents of red. I put this flower centerpiece together for the party with that in mind and was so thrilled when I found fresh peonies at the flower shop! They are my favorite flower and I couldn't believe they were in season. They were perfect to fill in with some hydrangeas for volume and few other touches of color. I wanted to show you how easy it is to make your table festive with a few flowers, fresh greenery and my Christmas Eve dinner menu that we started for our family tradition last year in case you need some help in planning your own for this year. I always love having a festive drink for a special occasion and since I've been partnering with IZZE this year we've been trying out all of their delicious flavors and this sparkling blackberry is the perfect one for this time of year. Not only do I love the rich color of it, but it tastes so good and makes it fun for everyone at the table to have their own sparkling drink. I like to add fresh fruit like berries or cranberries into the glasses as well. I also like to add special touches to the table such as name tags on the place settings, so for these ones I wrote the names out on envelopes with my calligraphy pen and included a Christmas Card inside that is a letter for each of my kids to remember this Christmas. We also like to open christmas crackers which is a fun tradition that my husbands family does and something we definitely want to carry on. For the menu we have fresh homemade orange rolls, a delicious pear pomegranate salad that I've included the recipe for you below, flank steak, twice baked potatoes, and a tasty dessert of peppermint ice cream topped with homemade hot fudge and crushed candy canes. You could also serve Christmas swig cookies with that dessert as well which we usually make for Santa to have, so it doesn't hurt to enjoy a few before he arrives;) Hope all of you are enjoying this fun time of year and that this give you a little inspiration when planning all of your festive parties.
