I can’t believe we moved from our California home almost 4 weeks ago because it seems like we’re just getting settled in Utah and finally unpacking the last of our boxes into our temporary home. We are still searching for a house to buy but the market is tough right now and the right place hasn’t popped up yet. We would love to build a home one day or I would love to remodel something to make it the design that I want if we get the chance. It’s been so fun to reconnect with friends and family while we’ve been here, including one of my dear friends who is the owner of AMB Design and who I worked with for almost 7 years. She just finished a beautiful home in my parents neighborhood and it was so fun to walk-thru. I’ve been admiring all of the homes on every street I come across and try to hurry and snap photos before anyone notices. It’s exciting to be looking for a new place but also frustrating to get just what we want in a neighborhood that is also hard to get into. We’ve been enjoying lots of fun days swimming at my parents pool and we’ve even ventured out to some fun playgrounds with friends as well as the Hogle Zoo. The zoo was so fun because you make a reservation for your time slot and all of the pathways are one-way so it makes a great flow walking around to the different exhibits. We’ve also been to some of our favorite restaurants and boutiques like Beaumont Bakery and Amy’s Boutique in Holladay. Capri has also been busy starting dance and tumbling again and the kids are all getting excited for some fun family trips coming up. The weather has been nice and cool for June and the mountains have felt amazing so we’re just soaking up all these new views and venturing out as much as we can. We’ve hiked up Millcreek Canyon as well as Donut Falls up Big Cottonwood Canyon. It’s such a fun change of scenery from what we’re used to in California. Also, I’m making my artisan bread this weekend after I made some for a family dinner and everyone went crazy over it. You need to give it a try if you haven’t yet, I promise you’ll love it!

BOOK: White Fragility [This book came highly recommended from so many friends over the past few weeks so I started reading it and it’s really eye-opening. I’ve loved learning from so many different resources about how we can start in our own homes to teach our own family about racism.]
